Overview

The chemistry major prepares students for careers in the health professions, research, industry and education. Close work between students and faculty and plentiful undergraduate research opportunities support preparation for graduate and professional schools. Creighton awards both a Bachelor of Science in chemistry and a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry certified by the American Chemical Society. Students learn to solve problems creatively, in teams and independently, and become familiar with Creighton's dentistry, nursing, medicine and pharmacy programs. Prospective students can prepare in high school with demanding math and science courses, lab experience and science clubs.

Requirements

Admission Requirements: Admission is decided on high school GPA, ACT or SAT scores (test-optional applicants may omit them), extracurricular activities, a personal statement and a high school counselor recommendation. Honors sections and advanced placement courses strengthen an application.
