BA/BS in Chemistry

The Chemistry major gives students a grounding in classical and modern theory together with the laboratory skills the field requires. Small classes begin with general and organic chemistry and progress to upper-level topics such as instrumentation, quantum theory and industrial applications. Majors can work with faculty on research on or off campus or complete internships in Philadelphia and beyond. Graduates head to graduate or medical school or into research, forensic work, the chemical industry, laboratory medicine, technology fields and teaching. An accelerated track pairs the Eastern bachelor's degree with a professional science master's degree in forensic chemistry from a Philadelphia university. Faculty mentoring and a Christian perspective on science run through the program. The combination of laboratory work, research and faculty mentoring prepares graduates for varied scientific futures.
