MA/MS in Theological and Ministerial Studies

This thirty-six-credit-hour graduate degree comes from Palmer Theological Seminary and is designed mainly for people already serving in ministry. It takes a fresh approach to practical theology by organizing study around six core dimensions of church practice instead of the usual split into biblical, historical, theological, and pastoral subjects. Each dimension serves as a window for examining scripture, history, doctrine, and present-day concerns together. Knowledge of theory and of practice is built up side by side through integrative inquiry, which is meant to produce new insights that are useful in congregations. The course is delivered through the seminary's open online model. Students can complete it entirely online, or they can combine online study with sessions on campus.
