MA/MS in Interior Architecture

This professional degree in interior architecture carries accreditation from the Council for Interior Design Accreditation. It is designed mainly for people whose bachelor's degrees come from outside design, though graduates in architecture or landscape architecture are welcome too. Two tracks exist. A shorter path serves those holding an architecture or landscape architecture bachelor's degree, and a longer path serves everyone else. Each track starts in the summer semester. Applicants without design experience first take leveling courses covering visual notation, design foundations and digital tools. They then progress through graduate design studios paired with classes on theory, interior materials, color, lighting, sustainable practice and construction documents. The degree closes with a master's project and a course on professional practice. Studio work and coursework run side by side, so students apply ideas directly in design projects.
