BA/BS in Biomedical/Medical Engineering

The Biomedical Engineering degree applies chemical and other engineering principles to living organisms, particularly human beings. It builds on core principles from chemical, electrical, and mechanical engineering. Three majors are offered within the bachelor of science. Whichever is chosen, students take liberal studies, mathematics and basic science, core engineering science courses, plus engineering design, elective, and laboratory work. The program is run jointly through the FAMU-FSU College of Engineering. Florida State University is located in Tallahassee, and the program page lists named contacts and advising offices who can answer questions about admission, course planning, and degree requirements before a student applies. Because requirements and details can change, prospective students should confirm current information with the department or advising office, and should review the full program page for course lists and further guidance.
