The Management major at Florida State's Herbert Wertheim College of Business examines how organizations obtain, deploy and look after their people, physical assets and information. The central skill is making decisions about those resources, and students gain a grounding in several branches of management with room to specialize in one or more.
During the first two years, students work through general education, the writing requirement, courses on the human experience and prerequisite classes. Electives are best spent on social science and psychology topics and on sharpening communication and analytical reasoning. Entry into the major is competitive because it uses specialized admission, and the college advising office handles questions.
Classes meet in person on the main campus in Tallahassee only. The major cannot be completed through online or distance learning.
