PhD in Business/Commerce, General

The doctorate in Business Administration at the Herbert Wertheim College of Business trains scholars to produce original research. Applicants from any academic background may apply, and students spend their seminars in small groups alongside faculty. Each candidate picks a major from the options on offer: accounting, finance, marketing, information systems, human resources with organizational behavior, insurance with risk management, or strategy. Working relationships with faculty researchers can start in the very first year and give students the footing for an academic career. Graduates are prepared for roles at leading colleges and universities and for selected research posts in industry and government. Florida State is classified as a Carnegie research institution with very high research activity, and the college's faculty are recognized for the productivity and relevance of their work.
