AA/AS in Accounting and Related Services

Accounting at Genesee Community College offers an Associate in Science for students preparing to transfer and an Associate in Applied Science for those heading straight to employment, plus an Applied Accounting certificate. Formal agreements with many four-year colleges support transfer. Students learn to prepare financial statements and income tax returns and to analyze financial information, becoming proficient with spreadsheets and accounting software. Small classes taught by a pair of full-time professors and several part-time instructors emphasize conversation with instructors and practical projects. The Associate in Science combines beginning accounting classes with liberal arts study and lays a base for accounting and finance careers, including the path to CPA licensure.
