AA/AS in Biology, General

The Biology program at Henry Ford College leads to an Associate in Science and serves students planning to continue in biology-related fields or professional programs such as medical or dental school. Topics range from microbes to whole ecosystems, with attention to molecular processes and how organisms interact with their surroundings. Students also study how the human body works in health and illness. Along the way they build laboratory skills, scientific reasoning and problem-solving ability. The program emphasizes smooth transfer to a university, and the college participates in the MiTransfer Biology Pathway. Possible careers down the road include research scientist, doctor, dentist, veterinarian and physician assistant after further study. Prospective students can ask for more information or apply through the college website, and instructor contact details appear on the program page.
