AA/AS in Culinary Arts and Related Services

Culinary Arts at Henry Ford College is organized as a ladder of credentials, from a skills certificate to an associate degree and a bachelor's degree, all offered on one campus. The associate degree is accredited by the American Culinary Federation Education Foundation and connects to Certified Culinarian certification. Students cook in production-style classes beginning in their first semester. Topics include baking, nutrition, planning menus, safe food handling and controlling costs, and they help run a student restaurant, a cafe and campus catering. A paid internship with a local employer such as a restaurant, hotel, hospital or school gives practical experience. Graduates can pursue roles as cooks, sous chefs or executive chefs in hospitality settings. Prospective students can ask for more information or apply through the college website, and instructor contact details appear on the program page.
