AA/AS in Engineering, General

Engineering Technology prepares students to turn engineering designs into real products and structures. The pathway links the engineering profession with hands-on trades, with less emphasis on advanced math and theory than a traditional engineering degree and more on hands-on problem solving. Henry Ford College offers Associate in Applied Science options in mechanical and construction management technology, plus a certificate in basic mechanical engineering. Learners use engineering software, practice testing and troubleshooting, and work in teams. The program aims to place graduates directly into technician careers. Students who want a bachelor's degree can move on through transfer pathways with two Michigan universities, Eastern Michigan and Wayne State, and an Engineering Club is open to participants. Prospective students can ask for more information or apply through the college website, and instructor contact details appear on the program page.
