AA/AS in Criminal Justice and Corrections

The Criminal Justice program prepares students for service-oriented careers in public safety. Studies center on how the justice system developed and the ideas behind it, the laws that shape how agencies operate, and working respectfully with diverse communities. Students discuss issues with current and former practitioners and develop critical thinking, interpersonal communication, reporting skills and cultural awareness. Henry Ford College offers an Associate in Arts in Law Enforcement and a version that includes a Police Academy. Academy participants who pass the MCOLES licensing exam are awarded proof of completion and become eligible to apply with local agencies. Other career settings include federal agencies, state police, corrections, probation and parole, schools and nonprofit organizations. Prospective students can ask for more information or apply through the college website, and instructor contact details appear on the program page.
