Cert in Practical Nursing, Vocational Nursing and Nursing Assistants

Practical Nursing at John A. Logan College is a full-time certificate that prepares students to work as practical nurses on a health care team. Learning combines classroom theory, laboratory practice and supervised clinical experience, and instruction takes place face to face during regular business hours. The cohort begins each August and runs across the fall and spring terms. Entry is selective: applicants must be admitted to the college, hold a high school diploma or GED, and sit the ATI TEAS pre-entrance exam after applying to the program. Program communication is by email only. The program is approved by two Illinois bodies, a professional regulation department and the community college board, so graduates are eligible to register for the NCLEX-PN licensing examination required of practical nurses.
