Overview
The Bachelor of Science in Chemistry is from the chemistry and biochemistry department, whose degrees are accredited by the American Chemical Society. Concentration choices are ACS-certified, integrative, forensic and pharmaceutical chemistry.
Faculty research reaches every major branch of chemistry, from analytical and biological to environmental, inorganic, organic and physical. The department works actively to place students in internships and outside undergraduate research that match their personal and professional goals, and research is required in several of the degree tracks.
Active student chapters give majors a community, and a published degree pathway maps courses semester by semester. The degree is taught in person on the Kennesaw campus and students can enter in fall, spring or summer. A Double Owl Pathway offers a route toward a graduate degree. Majors also receive guidance from faculty who actively pursue research in their own areas.
