Overview

Biology at La Roche University gives students a chance to carry out original research and run their own experiments. Two bachelor's options are available, and both combine theoretical training, real research opportunities, service learning and a demanding curriculum. The Bachelor of Arts suits students who want a firm base in biology while minoring in a non-scientific subject. The Bachelor of Science leads toward bachelor's-level employment or postgraduate study in medicine, pharmacy, veterinary science, dentistry and the life sciences. Students can work in BioSOLVE, a laboratory run by students for student research, and many earn departmental honors through an honors thesis. Pathways also exist for applying biology to engineering, health care or medicine through dual degrees.
