AA/AS in Biology, General

The biology associate of science program at Lehigh Carbon Community College is intended for students who expect to continue into a bachelor's program. The listed destinations include allied health, biochemistry, ecology, genetics, marine biology, pharmacy, dentistry, optometry, and veterinary medicine. Core classes combine two-semester sequences in general biology, general chemistry, and organic chemistry. This lab-based science foundation supports the upper-level work that these fields require. The program page notes Pennsylvania's statewide articulation system, which lets graduates of certain associate degrees enter participating four-year schools as juniors. Many Pennsylvania universities are named as transfer options. A biology professor coordinates the program, and the page includes a section about course fees. Students interested in this field can contact the coordinator at the Schnecksville campus.
