AA/AS in Computer and Information Sciences, General

The computer science associate of science degree at Lehigh Carbon Community College is built for students who plan to finish a bachelor's degree at another college or university. It lays the groundwork for further study in computing fields such as computer science or information science. The course list centers on C++ programming, how computers are organized, database concepts, operating systems, and data structures. Together these classes introduce the technical base that upper-level courses expect. Pennsylvania's statewide articulation arrangements are described as the route for graduates to enter a participating four-year school as juniors. The college names Commonwealth University Bloomsburg and Muhlenberg College among its transfer partners for this field. An assistant professor of computer information systems serves as program coordinator. The page also outlines a ladder from technical high school study to bachelor's work.
