AA/AS in Communication and Media Studies

Lehigh Carbon Community College offers an associate degree in communication aimed at students who want to work in, or transfer toward, fields built around how people share messages. The curriculum treats communication broadly, covering workplace and public settings, spoken and written expression, and media production. Coursework includes interpersonal and intercultural communication, media studies, social media strategy, and oral presentation. Students build speaking and writing habits useful in areas such as advertising, public relations, event planning, government, human resources, broadcasting, and journalism. The college presents the degree as a stepping stone. Credits can lead directly into employment or carry forward into a four-year program, and the department lists a faculty coordinator for students who want guidance before they enroll. Students interested in this field can contact the coordinator at the Schnecksville campus. Career pathway information on the page lists example jobs.
