Program details

Overview

The Communication Sciences and Disorders Bachelor of Science at Lewis University belongs to the nursing and health sciences college. It centers on how the body produces speech, language and hearing, and on the disorders affecting them at any age. Students learn from faculty with expertise in autism studies and child language disorders, and complete a clinical rotation in the senior year. They build a portfolio documenting work with a single client, from assessment through treatment and progress reporting. Certain courses can earn dual credit toward the Lewis Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology, which reduces the number of courses needed in the graduate program.
