BA/BS in Accounting and Related Services

Accounting at Marian is a Bachelor of Science taught within the School of Business. Students learn accounting theory, business systems and professional ethics, and they practice interpreting data and shaping strategy rather than just keeping books. CPA exam preparation is built into the curriculum through Becker review software, and students may start the exam in their senior year. A required internship, a capstone competition and membership in national and state accounting societies give students professional exposure, and alumni mentors check in with them every semester. Courses also stress data analytics, tax and accounting software, and ethical judgment. Graduates move into audit, assurance, controller and executive finance roles within companies of many sizes, and large national firms and regional employers actively recruit from the program.
