PGCert in Educational Administration and Supervision

This licensure program prepares experienced educators for the Indiana Building Level Administrator license. It is meant for licensed teachers and school counselors who see themselves becoming a principal, a vice principal or a program head. The sequence runs through four phases. Participants first meet adaptive leadership and begin viewing a school as a complex system shaped by culture and relationships. They then practice guiding the adults they work with, building teams and influencing colleagues in their own building. A later phase teaches how to partner with families and the wider community. The final phase covers operational responsibilities such as school law, compliance, budgets, resources and decisions informed by data. Because the work is linked to each participant's own school, lessons can be put into practice immediately. The program is designed to be completed in roughly a year.
