Cert in Fine and Studio Arts

Ceramics - Master Technician is offered at Mendocino College. This certificate combines studio ceramic technology with personal artistic growth and lessons in presenting and promoting finished work. Students learn to use and repair ceramic equipment, with a capstone seminar on professional practice for selling and exhibiting art and craft. The certificate takes 3 semesters at Mendocino College, a California community college. Instruction comes from the college faculty, and the course sequence is arranged so that a full-time student can progress steadily toward completion of the credential. Studying at a community college lets students begin with smaller classes and close contact with instructors while they settle on longer-term educational goals. The certificate is a shorter route than a full degree, and students can often apply the same coursework toward an associate degree later if they choose.
