BA/BS in Chemistry

Chemistry students at Midwestern State University build creativity and problem-solving ability in a field that underpins medicine, health, food security, forensics and personal care products. The major offers several options matched to different goals. These include an ACS certified professional track, an interdisciplinary track with an open minor, a pre-professional track covering biochemistry and forensics, and a pre-pharmacy track, among others. The department reports that students who complete the Health Professions Advisory Committee interview are accepted to medical or professional school. Typical destinations include laboratories, clinics, universities, companies and public agencies. Prospective students can visit campus, apply online or contact the department secretary, and the options help majors complete the prerequisite courses they need next. Interested students should consult the department for details on each option.
