AA/AS in Criminal Justice and Corrections

Students in this associate degree study criminal justice with an eye toward policing at municipal, state and federal agencies, plus private security work. Classes meet in person at both the Downtown Milwaukee and Oak Creek campuses. A good share of the coursework follows material from the state board that governs law enforcement standards, so graduates may be able to join basic recruit training and pursue officer certification in Wisconsin. Two internship courses with police agencies are available as an option. A smaller certificate sits inside the degree and meets the same state objectives. Since certain agencies list a two-year degree among their hiring prerequisites, finishing this credential may help candidates satisfy that expectation, and the knowledge gained may count in place of other agency requirements.
