Cert in Carpenters

The Carpentry diploma readies students for work as carpenters across home building, light commercial projects, and remodeling. Training uses current tools and emphasizes hands-on work with standard building materials, so learners gain confidence on real job sites. Students study tool safety, construction math and principles, framing, building science, construction finishing, drafting and design, and construction business management. The curriculum builds problem-solving and planning skills alongside technical knowledge of the construction industry, including how to read plans and estimate materials for a project. Applicants who like working outdoors, enjoy practical problem solving, and bring a strong work ethic are well matched to the program. The diploma is offered at the Pipestone campus and totals 32 credits. The program suits learners aiming for residential and light commercial construction jobs.
