Cert in Computer Software and Media Applications

Computer Applications Specialist is a Certificate of Achievement at Modesto Junior College, housed in the School of Business & Computing. The award centers on 18 units of major coursework. The award suits students heading for small business jobs involving everyday computer tasks such as preparing documents, simple spreadsheet calculations and basic database management. As a certificate, the award is shorter than a degree and concentrates on a single occupational area. Some students use it to begin working sooner, while others pair it with existing credentials or treat it as a first step toward a longer program at the college. Students can contact the listed faculty for guidance on sequencing their courses. The college catalog holds the current course requirements and should be checked before enrolling.
