Cert in Computer Software and Media Applications

Computer Applications courses teach the office and productivity software that most workplaces rely on, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, along with Google's suite plus tools for managing projects. Students may follow a degree, earn a certificate or take short noncredit classes. The sequence begins with basic computer skills and moves toward advanced spreadsheet techniques and SharePoint. Assignments mimic real tasks like building budgets, writing reports and collaborating with colleagues. These skills support administrative and technical jobs across offices, schools and clinics, and the flexible formats let students start from scratch or build on what they already know. Students can use the department pages at Mission College to review program maps, see which classes are scheduled each term and contact faculty or advisors, which makes it easier to plan a realistic path toward their academic goals.
