BA/BS in Fine and Studio Arts

The Art major gives students intensive studio training rooted in making, art history and theory. Students develop a personal artistic direction with guidance from working artists while strengthening technical ability. The focus is on traditional fine art media, covering drawing, painting, ceramics, prints and photographs, alongside conceptual foundations. Los Angeles provides a broad creative network, and internships and contact with practicing artists build professional readiness. Students assemble a portfolio and connections for careers as working artists, teachers and in related fields. A minor in art history and a major map are also available.
