AA/AS in Anthropology

Anthropology at Mt. San Jacinto College examines humanity across time and place. The discipline combines four subfields: biological, cultural, archaeology and linguistics. Students consider what skeletal remains reveal about health and diet, how societies organize belief and power, what material remains tell about past peoples, and how speech shapes perception of the world. The department stresses respect for human diversity while noting how much people share biologically. Course work helps students approach questions of race, gender, belief, government and money with greater empathy. Faculty at both the San Jacinto and Menifee Valley campuses can be reached through the department page, which also links course descriptions and degree and certificate information. Mt. San Jacinto College operates campuses at San Jacinto and Menifee Valley. Prospective students should speak with a counselor or the department contact to plan coursework, confirm current requirements and check class schedules before enrolling.
