BA/BS in Communication and Media Studies

Communication Studies centers on how people interact, from one-to-one relationships to workplace dynamics and public speaking. Coursework builds an understanding of human exchange across many settings and points toward careers such as corporate training, conflict mediation and sales. Students leave with practical speaking and relationship skills. The School of Media & Communication offers the major, and it can be taken on campus or online. Learners can join the student-run newspaper, the public relations student society, and internships or co-ops with regional employers in the Cincinnati area. Graduates often work as presentation specialists, corporate trainers, social media coordinators or sales directors, and some go on to study public relations, health communication or a master's degree in communication. The major also gives practice in interpersonal skills.
