AA/AS in Computer Software and Media Applications

Digital media at Northwest Vista College is organized around websites, graphics, interactive media and instructional materials. Students may be starting out, updating their skills or looking for advanced training. The curriculum touches web and interface design practice, user experience, front-end coding with HTML, CSS and JavaScript, jQuery, accessibility and Section 508 requirements, mobile technology, Adobe Creative Suite, social media tools, SCORM standards and content management systems. The applied science degree suits people who might later work toward a bachelor's degree or a management position. Its academic courses can be transferred to four-year schools, and instructors work closely with students on career planning as well as degree and transfer advising. Prospective students can use the program page to find contacts and next steps, and they should speak with an advisor to confirm how courses fit their degree plan and transfer goals.
