Cert in Geography and Cartography

The Geographic Information Science certificate combines theory and practice in geospatial data collection, geographic information systems, computational and statistical analysis, and cartography. It is available in Corvallis and through Ecampus. The certificate also examines the social and environmental implications of GIScience, including professional ethics and privacy. Students learn to apply GIS software and data collection tools and to use spatial analysis across several sub-disciplines. The credential can support certification as a nationally recognized GIS professional. The page notes high demand for GIS professionals in government and industry.
