BA/BS in Agriculture, General

This undergraduate major lets students shape their own route through agriculture. Coursework starts from a shared agricultural core and then branches into electives drawn from many areas of the College of Agricultural Sciences, so a student can sample widely or concentrate on two or more emphasis areas. The degree is offered at Corvallis, through Ecampus and at La Grande. Graduates are expected to adapt to varied audiences and workplaces, apply scientific and computing knowledge, and explain how agriculture connects with social, economic, political and environmental questions. Typical destinations include returning to a family operation, teaching agriculture, agricultural communications, Extension work, industry roles, equipment or insurance sales, starting a business, and state or federal agricultural programs.
