BA/BS in Education, General

The Education major at Pacific Lutheran University is offered through the College of Professional Studies and centers on equity-focused instruction and classrooms that include every learner. Students enter K-12 schools from their first semester. Before full-time student teaching, they complete extended hours of field experience that join coursework with real teaching practice. Students get steady encouragement from faculty and peers throughout their studies. Because of the direct admission policy, an application to the university doubles as an application to the education program. Anyone satisfying the university's academic standards and state rules is assured a seat in the teacher certification program. Prospective students can arrange a campus visit through the admission office and speak with faculty about how the major fits their goals.
