This fine arts degree in graphic and interactive design trains students to research, evaluate, create and produce professional materials for print, digital and interactive use. Learners study aesthetics and design principles first so they can carry a project from concept through completion.
Major coursework covers design thinking, history, interactive design, typography and branding, plus electives. From freshman year, students use professional hardware and software to bring visual ideas to life.
Practical experience comes from work with non-profit clients through Wood Street Communications, the design club and the Advertising Federation chapter. The School of Communication also lists student media organizations, degree requirements and course descriptions for the major.
Prospective students can look over the published degree requirements and course descriptions, then contact the admissions office through the university website to ask how this major fits their goals and circumstances.
