BA/BS in Accounting and Related Services

Accounting prepares students for work at public accounting firms, businesses, agencies, schools, and charitable organizations. Students gain data and analytical skills for tasks like manage financial transactions, report on what an organization owns, owes, and does, and judge what accounting information can and cannot tell decision makers. Coursework supports preparation for professional credentials including CPA, CMA, CIA, and CISA. Paid internships provide experience and academic credit, and the Accounting Club offers professional networking. The program reports graduates scoring above the national average on the CPA exam. It is the only Minnesota accounting program with an Institute of Internal Auditors partnership, and the Herberger Business School is AACSB accredited. Transfer students can use the Minnesota Transfer Pathway, and an MBA with an accounting emphasis is available for continuing study.
