BA/BS in Chemistry

Chemistry at St. Cloud State introduces students to a field that underpins medicine, agriculture, health, and technology. Learners are mentored by faculty whose research spans disease areas, materials, devices, and drug-like agents, and they gain hands-on time with modern analytical instruments and computational methods. Experience beyond the classroom comes through student and faculty research, placements in public agencies, companies, and research labs, and talks at regional and national conferences. The program is approved by the American Chemical Society, and new laboratories are being developed in a major science and engineering building. The department's page notes that the chemistry major is not currently accepting applications, while a minor is offered. Some classes are available online, and graduates pursue work as chemists, laboratory technicians, and product developers.
