Program details

Overview

Graduates of this applied science degree are prepared to guide companies and individuals through their finances. Students study accounting for financial reporting, management, costs and taxes, and they also pick up general business understanding and computer skills. The course of study develops speaking and writing, quantitative reasoning and analytical thinking. A student with plenty of earlier college credit, in any subject, can qualify to sit the CPA test after finishing it. Sinclair presents accounting as the language of business, and the program is meant to launch careers or help working people advance. It is housed in the Accounting department. Courses combine technical accounting instruction with general education, so graduates leave with both specialist abilities and the broader academic base employers and transfer institutions generally expect.
