BA/BS in Biomedical/Medical Engineering

The undergraduate biomedical engineering degree combines biology with engineering fundamentals and clinical technology to prepare graduates for research, industry, or healthcare work. Graduates are prepared to design medical devices and to support the professionals who rely on them. The program holds accreditation from ABET through its Engineering Accreditation Commission, and its coursework covers device design and biomechanics. Students take hands-on laboratory courses and can pursue research opportunities alongside faculty members. Hands-on labs provide practice with equipment used in the field. Its emphasis on ethical practice and community impact reflects a commitment to developing leaders in healthcare technology. Coursework and projects reward careful thinking as much as technical skill. Students who finish the degree are ready for graduate study or for technical roles in medical devices and healthcare systems.
