BA/BS in Accounting and Related Services

The Accounting program in the Greehey School of Business gives students the professional and technical knowledge needed for careers in accounting, auditing and financial management. The degree is a Bachelor of Business Administration, and a shorter minor is also offered. Accounting can lead into emerging areas such as sustainability, entrepreneurship and financial technology. Faculty work closely with students inside and outside class, and ties with alumni and regional employers translate into internship and job placement opportunities. The degree meets Texas examination, educational and licensing requirements for the CPA, though licensure for students with fewer credit hours requires supervised work experience. Students who wish to shorten that requirement may move into a longer Accounting and Data Analytics major. The page also describes preparation for the CMA exam.
