BA/BS in Communication and Media Studies

Communication Studies develops visual, oral, digital and written skills while encouraging students to weigh multiple perspectives through ethical scholarship and rhetorical inquiry. Students earn a Bachelor of Arts and may add teacher certification, take a minor, or enter a combined degree route. Tracks allow students to focus on areas such as pre-law advocacy and leadership or organizational communication. Graduates move on to law school or graduate study, or into community outreach, nonprofit leadership, public relations, digital production and journalism. The program sits within a Catholic, Marianist institution in San Antonio, so coursework is framed by ethical reflection as well as technical or academic skill. Students work closely with faculty, join a community that values service, and finish with preparation for graduate study or entry into their chosen field. Prospective students can request information or apply through the university website.
