BA/BS in Communication and Media Studies

The Communication major in the communication and journalism school leads to a Bachelor of Arts. It focuses on how communication shapes culture, values and collaboration, using social science research to design effective messages while building students' own speaking and writing skills. Students can explore intercultural, interpersonal, organizational, strategic, political and nonverbal communication. Classes are small and instructors give individual attention. The skills transfer to careers such as content creation, advertising, business, law and policy. The major is non-restricted, so applicants follow the general admission criteria for their entry route.
