PGCert in Special Education and Teaching

The graduate certificate in Autism prepares learners to assess and support young people living with autism spectrum disorder. Evidence-based assessment and intervention are taught through a research-to-practice approach. The program is interdisciplinary, bringing special education together with behavior analysis, language development, and educational psychology. Required courses cover introductory autism coursework, behavior change assessment, early language and literacy, and assistive technology. Students earn the credential when they complete the required coursework within a set time limit. Graduate School policies on transfer credit, academic standing, and withdrawals also apply. The certificate suits practitioners who want focused preparation in autism assessment and intervention while keeping their current roles. Coursework is structured around four required courses that build skills in sequence.
