Engineers who find themselves running projects and teams can pick up business skills through this online certificate. Participants learn to plan, schedule and control projects, weigh risk, use data to guide choices, streamline resources and run engineering firms. The design assumes engineers wanting stronger management knowledge. One advanced project management class is required. Students then take two electives on running engineering organizations, in areas like accounting, business law and supply chains, along with courses on decisions based on data. Graduates can continue toward an MBA, a master's in engineering technology or a professional science master's.
