Overview

The Computer Simulation and Gaming program combines creative work with technical training for students who want a career in games and digital media. It is a degree built around the skills the industry needs, covering game design, development and interactive media. Topics include three-dimensional modeling, virtual reality, simulations, digital twins, animation and film effects. The program is led by a coordinator who mentors students on real projects, including a game developed with industry support to teach younger students about carbon capture and its costs. Graduates can pursue roles such as serious or educational games developer, among other positions in a fast-changing field. A minor in the subject is available for students majoring elsewhere. The program sits within the Tandy School of Computer Science, and the university's career center backs students with a placement guarantee.
