BA/BS in Computer Software and Media Applications

This concentration within the Computer Science degree lets students apply programming skills to video game creation. It treats games as a blend of science and art, pulling together chance, computing, machine intelligence and graphics and audio. Because making a game involves many specialties, classes show students not only the mechanics of development but also how to collaborate with people from other disciplines. The Department of Math and Computer Science runs the program, with a coordinator listed for questions. Student leaders advised by faculty organize activities on campus, and each March the group travels to California for the largest game industry gathering in the country, a chance to meet industry professionals and see new technology.
