This certificate gives students wide exposure to computer systems and related technologies. It supports entry-level employment and also serves as a first step toward an applied associate degree. Coursework includes network fundamentals, hardware essentials and Cisco networking, together with project management, a mathematics course and a human relations course. Students also pick at least seven units of emphasis courses from information technology, computer science, Cisco or information systems offerings. The certificate totals 30 units, and students must earn a cumulative GPA of at least 2.0. Mathematics and business courses are recommended for those planning to continue studying.
