PGCert in Teaching English or French as a Second or Foreign Language

Teachers who already hold a certification can use this advanced certificate to add an English as a second language specialty. It is delivered through the Graduate School of Education as an extension of existing teaching credentials. Study concerns instructing learners of English in American elementary, middle and high school settings. Because the program serves bilingual classrooms, candidates must be fluent, or nearly so, in Spanish as well as English. Completion takes 15 credit hours, with a stated timeline that begins at 1 year. Every course is taught in person. Students may enroll either full time or part time. Applying costs $50.
