Program details

Overview

This four-year program, run by the communication sciences school, teaches students about how people develop speech, language and hearing, and what happens when those abilities are disrupted. The curriculum rests on a scientific foundation and leads to entry-level roles in health and human services or on to graduate study. The degree is also the usual first step toward becoming a speech-language pathologist or an audiologist. Those careers require further education, a master's degree for the former and a clinical doctorate for the latter. An accelerated track is available for students who want to start graduate coursework while still finishing their bachelor's, which suits those aiming for SLP licensure. The program is housed in the College of Health Professions and Sciences. Applicants apply through UCF's undergraduate admission process. The program is part of UCF's College of Health Professions and Sciences. Interested students can request information from UCF or start an application online, and current deadlines are published on the university site.
