The Master of Social Work prepares students to become licensed clinical social workers who deliver mental health care to individuals, families and groups, whatever area of practice they choose.
Several tracks fit different schedules. An advanced standing track serves those holding a recent BSW from an accredited program, and a traditional track serves graduates of any other bachelor's field. The degree can be completed online or in person.
The field education office places students in internships that supply hands-on experience and supervised practice hours in generalist and clinical work. Accreditation comes from the national social work education council, and the program meets the requirements for licensure in Florida.
The program is offered through the Health Professions and Sciences college.
The page quotes one per-credit-hour rate for Florida residents and a higher one for out-of-state students, and points readers to UCF's general cost information for a fuller estimate of what a graduate student will pay.
